Blank Envelopes (Envelopes)
What would you like to do?
Blank Envelopes
Plain 24# white stock with nothing printed on it. Twenty-three sizes, $60 per 500. For running through your own printer, hand-addressing, or matching a job we already printed.
Nothing is printed on these
Worth saying at the top: this is blank envelope stock. No return address, no logo, no artwork. If you want your branding on them, you want printed envelopes instead — at 500 a #10 printed on the front in black and white is $110 against $60 here, so the printing is $50 and you should probably just have us do it.
There are three good reasons to buy blank anyway.
| You are printing them yourself | Plenty of offices run envelopes through a laser printer with a mail merge, because the addresses change every time. Buying the stock from us means you are not waiting on an office supply delivery and you are getting the same 24# white we print on. |
|---|---|
| You are hand-addressing | Invitations, thank-you cards, donor letters and anything that should not look automated. A hand-written envelope gets opened at a rate printed mail does not come close to. The A-sizes here are the ones for that. |
| You need matching spares | If we printed your envelopes, the blanks are the same stock. Useful for hand-addressed exceptions, for the ones somebody spoils, and for keeping a drawer stocked without reprinting. |
Before you run them through your own printer
This is where most self-printed envelope jobs go wrong, and none of it is obvious until it has happened.
Feed a few first. Envelopes are thicker at the flap than at the face, and not every office printer handles that. Test five before you commit to a stack of five hundred.
Watch the heat. A laser printer's fuser can soften the gum on the flap. Keep flaps open, do not stack them hot, and let them cool before boxing.
Check your margins. Most printers cannot print to the very edge, and envelope templates often assume they can. Run one and look at it before running the rest.
Mind the barcode zone. If these are going out as bulk mail, keep everything out of the strip along the bottom of the envelope where postal equipment reads.
If any of that sounds like an afternoon you would rather not have, the answer is to have us print them.
Twenty-three sizes
The same range as our printed envelopes, so whatever you have used before is here.
| Business — #10 (4.125" x 9.5") | The standard American business envelope and the one most of this goes out as. Four versions: plain, with a window, security tinted, and security tinted with a window. A window saves you addressing anything; the tint stops a check or a statement being read through the paper. |
|---|---|
| Business — #9 (3.875" x 8.875") | Slightly smaller than a #10, with or without a window. Its classic job is as the reply envelope that fits inside a #10 — which is exactly why remittance versions exist. |
| Remittance — #9 and #6 | Reply envelopes with a deep flap, meant to be sent out inside a larger envelope for someone to mail back. The #6 (3.625" x 6.5") has a long flap for the same reason. |
| Social — A1 to A10 | A1 3.625" x 5.125", A2 4.375" x 5.75", A4 4.25" x 6.25", A6 4.75" x 6.5", A7 5.25" x 7.25", A9 5.75" x 8.75", A10 6" x 9.5". These are the invitation and announcement sizes — squarer, softer proportions than a business envelope. A7 is the one that takes a 5" x 7" card. |
| Booklet — 6"x9", 6.5"x9.5", 9"x12", 10"x13" | Opens along the long side. Easy to slide a stack of flat sheets into, which makes it the right choice for mailing brochures, reports and marketing packs. |
| Catalog — 6"x9", 6.5"x9.5", 9"x12", 10"x13" | Same dimensions, but opens at the short end. Better for bulkier contents and for anything you want to slide in and out repeatedly. This is the distinction people miss when they order. |

Questions we get asked
Yes. Same 24# white stock, same sizes. That is the point — anything you run yourself will sit alongside anything we print for you without looking like a different order.
Same day is available at $120 per 500 rather than $60. If you can wait three business days, it is half the price. Call us before you order if the timing is tight — sometimes the stock is on the shelf.
A7 (5.25" x 7.25"). That is the standard invitation pairing and the one most people are looking for without knowing the name.
Some do — the #10 and #9 are both available with a window, and the #10 also comes as a security tint window envelope. Choose the version you need from the size list.
