The practical window
Order in December and post in the first days of January, or order in early January for same-week delivery. Cards arriving after mid-January have missed the moment — by then everyone is back in the routine and the fresh-start framing has gone.

Questions we get asked
New Year or Christmas?
If you only send one, New Year gets read more carefully. Christmas is more expected. Some businesses deliberately switch to New Year for exactly that reason.
How late is too late?
Mid-January. After that the fresh-start framing stops working and it reads as a card that missed Christmas.
Should we mention the year?
Yes, and check it on the proof. It is the single most common error on a New Year card and the most embarrassing one.
Which paper?
Matte if you are adding a handwritten line, which we would recommend. Something heavier if the card is going to senior contacts.
