The everyday flag, and why it is the default
An angled feather flag has a straight leading edge that runs at an angle to the top of the pole. It is the shape most people picture when they hear "feather flag", and it is the one we sell most of, for a simple reason: it gives you the most usable vertical print area of the feather shapes, because the top does not curve away from your artwork.
If you have a logo and a couple of words and you want them as large as the flag allows, this is the shape that does it.
Four heights, and how to choose
| Small — 9 ft | Indoors, under a canopy, or on a sidewalk where anything taller is in the way. Also the one that fits in a normal car. |

| Medium — 10.5 ft | Same price as the small. If you are choosing between the two and have the room, take the medium. |
| Large — 14 ft | The roadside size. This is what you want to be seen from a road people are driving down rather than walking along. |
| X-Large — 18 ft | For a setback frontage, a busy multi-lane road, or a site where you are competing with other signage. It needs a solid base and more care in wind. |
Height is about distance and speed. A flag at a walkable storefront does not need 18 feet; a dealership set back from the Tollway will not be seen at 9. Stand where your customer will be, and pick for that view.
Print thru, reverse, or double sided
Three options that sound similar and are not. This is the choice people most often get wrong.
| Single Sided Print Thru | Printed on one side, with the ink showing through the fabric. From the front it reads correctly. From the back you see the same artwork in mirror image. Fine for most sites, and the cheapest option. |

| Single Sided Print Thru Reverse | The same thing, mirrored at the printing stage. Use it when the side people will mostly see is the one that would otherwise show backwards — for example a flag positioned so traffic approaches from the far side. |
| Double Sided | Two printed layers with a blockout between them, so the artwork reads correctly from both directions and nothing shows through. This is what you want where people pass on both sides. |
Double sided costs noticeably more — it is close to a 50% increase, because it is genuinely two printed panels and a liner rather than one. Worth it beside a walkway or a two-way road. Not worth it against a building, a fence or a wall, where nobody will ever see the back.
Bases: what the flag is standing on decides this
Pick the base for the surface, not for the price. A flag on the wrong base is a flag on the ground.
| Ground Stake (included) | A spike that drives into soft ground — grass, dirt, landscaping beds. It costs nothing extra and it is the most stable option there is, because the ground is doing the work. It will not go into concrete, asphalt or a paved forecourt. |

| Cross Base + Water Bag | The cross base with a fillable weight ring. Fill it on site and pour it out when you leave, so you are not carrying the weight in the car. This is the one for an exposed parking lot on a windy day. |
| Square Base | A solid square foot for hard surfaces. Tidier footprint than the cross base and less of a trip hazard in a doorway or a narrow walkway. |
| Cross Base + Ground Stake | Both, in one order. For anyone who moves the same flag between a grass verge one weekend and a parking lot the next. |
If you only ever set up in one place, buy the base for that place. If you do not know yet where the flag will live, the cross base plus ground stake combination covers everything.

Who puts these out around North Dallas
Car dealerships and service centers along the Tollway, where a row of flags is how you signal a sale from a road nobody slows down on. Restaurants and coffee shops in strip centers, where the storefront is set back and the sign is not visible until you have already passed the turn. Apartment communities advertising availability. Gyms and studios during January and back-to-school. Open houses and new developments. Churches, schools and festivals running weekend events.
The common problem is the same: a business sitting in a place where drivers do not look, on a road where they are moving. A flag works because it moves — peripheral vision picks up motion long before it reads words.

Questions we get asked
Three or four words and a logo. A feather flag is tall and narrow and gets read from a moving vehicle in about a second. "NOW HIRING", "OPEN", "TACOS" all work. A phone number does not.
Only if people genuinely pass on both sides. Against a wall, a fence or a building, you are paying roughly 50% more for a side nobody sees. Beside a two-way road or a walkway, it is the difference between being read once and twice.
Yes, and most repeat customers do. The pole and base outlast the printed flag comfortably, so a seasonal change is usually just a new graphic. Tell us when you order that you already have the hardware.
Usually. Cities across North Dallas and most retail landlords have temporary signage rules, and they differ. Check with your city and your lease before ordering — we cannot advise on it, and finding out afterwards is expensive.
