Teardrop Flag
The flag that keeps its shape. A rounded teardrop outline tensioned back to the pole, so it stays readable when the air is still and stays controlled when it is not. Printed in North Dallas.
Why a teardrop instead of a feather
The difference is structural, not decorative. On a teardrop flag the pole runs down the leading edge and the fabric is pulled back and anchored near the base, so the flag is held under tension across its whole outline.
That gives you two things a feather flag does not. On a still day it keeps its full shape instead of hanging limp against the pole — which matters, because a limp flag is an invisible flag. And on a windy day it moves as one piece rather than whipping, which means less stress on the fabric and less noise.
The trade is height. Teardrops are shorter than feather flags at every tier — the largest is 13.5 ft against 18 ft for a feather. If your priority is being seen from a long way off, a feather goes higher. If your priority is a flag that always looks right, this is the one.
Four heights

Because the shape is wider relative to its height than a feather, a teardrop carries a round or square logo better. A feather flag suits a tall stacked lockup; a teardrop suits a badge.
Print thru, reverse, or double sided
Three options that sound similar and are not. This is the choice people most often get wrong.

| Double Sided | Two printed layers with a blockout between them, so the artwork reads correctly from both directions and nothing shows through. This is what you want where people pass on both sides. |
Double sided costs noticeably more — it is close to a 50% increase, because it is genuinely two printed panels and a liner rather than one. Worth it beside a walkway or a two-way road. Not worth it against a building, a fence or a wall, where nobody will ever see the back.
Bases: what the flag is standing on decides this
Pick the base for the surface, not for the price. A flag on the wrong base is a flag on the ground.

Who puts these out around North Dallas
Car dealerships and service centers along the Tollway, where a row of flags is how you signal a sale from a road nobody slows down on. Restaurants and coffee shops in strip centers, where the storefront is set back and the sign is not visible until you have already passed the turn. Apartment communities advertising availability. Questions we get asked
It handles it more gracefully. The tensioned outline means the flag moves as a unit instead of whipping at the tail, which is where feather flags take the most wear. That said, no flag belongs out in a storm — bring it in.
The 7 ft and 9 ft sizes are common at trade shows, conferences and receptions. Use a square base or a cross base indoors — the ground stake needs soft ground.
More than a feather flag proportionally, because it is wider for its height. Still keep it to a logo and a few words — the rule for any flag is that it is read at a glance, usually in motion.
In most cases yes. North Dallas cities and retail landlords each have their own temporary signage rules. Check both before ordering.
