Printed to be lit from behind
Same silicone-edge system as our standard SEG, on fabric made for illumination. Two things are different, and both matter.
The material is denser and the ink is laid heavier. A graphic printed for ambient light washes out badly when you put a light source behind it — colors go pale and dark areas turn grey. Backlit material is built to hold density with light coming through it.
It also diffuses. Without that you see the LED array through the image as a row of bright spots, which is the single most common way a home-made lightbox graphic goes wrong.
Where it belongs
Lightbox displays in retail and showrooms. Trade show stands that have to hold attention on a busy floor. Lobby and reception feature walls. Restaurant and menu displays. Anywhere the display has to work in low ambient light, which is exactly where an unlit graphic disappears.

Questions we get asked
Can I use a standard SEG graphic in a lightbox?
You can, but it will look washed out and you may see the lights through it. If the frame is lit, use backlit material.
Will I see the LEDs?
Not with the right material. Even diffusion is exactly what backlit fabric is engineered to do.
Does artwork need preparing differently?
Slightly. Very dark areas behave differently when lit from behind. Send us the file and we will flag anything that will not translate well before it prints.
Not lighting it?
Then save the money and use standard SEG.
