You are paying for print area
A rectangle flag is the most expensive shape on this site, and the reason is straightforward: it has square corners and no taper, so almost the whole panel is usable. On a feather or a teardrop, the top narrows and the tail curves away, and any artwork that runs into those areas gets distorted or cropped.
That matters in three situations. When the logo is wide rather than tall and will not sit in a narrow column. When there is more than a headline to communicate — a set of services, a list, a QR code that has to stay square and scannable. And when the artwork is a photograph or a full-bleed design that needs a rectangular canvas to make sense.
If none of those apply and you have a logo and two words, a feather flag says the same thing for around a hundred dollars less. We would rather tell you that than sell you the bigger one.
Three heights

There is no X-Large in this shape. A rectangle catches considerably more wind than a feather at the same height, which is why the range tops out lower — and why the base choice matters more here than on any other flag we sell.
Print thru, reverse, or double sided
Three options that sound similar and are not. This is the choice people most often get wrong.

| Double Sided | Two printed layers with a blockout between them, so the artwork reads correctly from both directions and nothing shows through. This is what you want where people pass on both sides. |
Double sided costs noticeably more — it is close to a 50% increase, because it is genuinely two printed panels and a liner rather than one. Worth it beside a walkway or a two-way road. Not worth it against a building, a fence or a wall, where nobody will ever see the back.
Bases: what the flag is standing on decides this
Pick the base for the surface, not for the price. A flag on the wrong base is a flag on the ground.

Who puts these out around North Dallas
Car dealerships and service centers along the Tollway, where a row of flags is how you signal a sale from a road nobody slows down on. Restaurants and coffee shops in strip centers, where the storefront is set back and the sign is not visible until you have already passed the turn. Apartment communities advertising availability. Gyms and studios during January and back-to-school. Open houses and new developments. Churches, schools and festivals running weekend events.
The common problem is the same: a business sitting in a place where drivers do not look, on a road where they are moving. A flag works because it moves — peripheral vision picks up motion long before it reads words.

Questions we get asked
More fabric, more print area and heavier hardware to hold a square panel steady. The gap is real and so is the difference in what you can put on it — if you only need a logo and a word, the feather flags are better value.
On this shape, yes — it stays square and it has room to be scannable. On a tapered flag a QR code ends up small and distorted. That said, think about whether anyone can get close enough and stand still enough to scan it. It works at an entrance or an expo stand, not beside a road.
On soft ground, the included stake. On any hard surface, the cross base with a water bag if there is any wind exposure at all. A rectangle catches more air than a feather, so under-weighting it is the mistake to avoid.
