Perforated Window (Decals)
Perforated Window Graphics
A full graphic on the outside, a clear view from the inside. One-way window film printed to any size, in North Dallas.
How one-way vision actually works
Perforated film is covered in thousands of small holes. From outside, where the light is bright, your eye reads the printed surface and the holes disappear — you see a solid graphic. From inside, where it is darker, your eye looks through the holes and past the print — you see the street.
It is not a coating or a trick of the ink. It is physics, and it depends on that light difference. Which leads to the one thing this page should tell you that most do not: at night, when the inside is lit and the outside is dark, it reverses. People outside can see in, and the graphic goes flat. If your space is used in the evening, plan for that rather than being surprised by it.
50/50 or 70/30 — the only real trade-off
Both cost the same. The choice is entirely about what you want more of.
| 50/50 perforation | Half film, half holes. The most see-through option, and the one to pick when the view out matters — a dining room, an office where people sit against the window, a vehicle where visibility is a safety question. The printed graphic is a little softer because there is less surface carrying it. |
|---|---|
| 70/30 perforation | 70% film, 30% holes. More printed surface, so colors are noticeably richer and fine detail holds up better. You can still see out, just less freely. Choose this when the graphic is doing the selling and the view is secondary — a storefront promotion, a brand wrap, a display window. |
If you cannot decide: 70/30 for retail glass where the message matters most, 50/50 anywhere people will be sitting behind it for hours.
Laminate is not optional on a vehicle
Gloss laminate adds a clear protective layer over the print. On static storefront glass it is a reasonable thing to skip — a graphic on an inside-facing shop window is not being attacked by anything.
On a vehicle it is different. Unlaminated perforated film going through a car wash will not survive it: the brushes catch the perforation edges and lift the film. Rain, road grit and highway speed all work at the same edges. If the film is going on a van, a truck or any vehicle that gets washed, laminate it.
At 3 ft x 5 ft, that is $82.50 without laminate and $120.00 with. On a vehicle graphic, the cheaper one is not cheaper.

Questions we get asked
On a rear window with 50/50 film, yes — it reads like a light screen. It does reduce clarity, so check your state and local rules on rear window coverage before you order, and keep it off the windshield and front side windows.
Some, and that is often a benefit on a west-facing storefront in a Texas summer. 70/30 blocks more than 50/50. If the room relies on that window for daylight, take 50/50.
That depends on where it is and what happens to it. Direct sun, heat, car washes, road grit and how often it is cleaned all change the answer, and none of those are ours to control. Laminate extends it materially. Fading is gradual rather than sudden, so you will see it coming rather than waking up to it.
Yes, and it comes off cleanly from glass with heat and patience. Vehicle glass with a defroster grid needs more care — tell us if that is where it is going.
