Why gloss, and when not to
Pick gloss when the card has to look like something. The coating deepens color and makes photographs and logos pop in a way uncoated stock simply cannot match. Blacks go richer, brand colors sit brighter, and a headshot looks like a photograph rather than a print of one.
It is also the practical choice for cards that get knocked about. Gloss wipes clean, so a card that lives in a car, a toolbox or an apron pocket still looks decent in month six.
The trade-off is honest and worth knowing up front: you cannot write on gloss. Pen sits on the surface and smears. If people write on your card, take the matte instead. We would rather tell you now than reprint later.

Gloss is unforgiving of a bad file. We check your artwork and show you a proof before anything runs, so the blues are your blues.

Questions we get asked
Gloss or soft touch?
Opposites. Gloss is bright and reflective and makes color shout. Soft touch is matte, velvety and more rigid. Gloss is for standing out. Soft touch is for feeling expensive.
Can I write on gloss?
No, not reliably. The coating resists ink. If anyone writes on your card, choose matte.
100 lb or 130 lb?
130 lb is the heavier card and feels more premium in the hand. 100 lb Premium is the everyday choice and what most orders use.
Will my colors print exactly as they look on screen?
Screens glow, paper does not, so there is always a small shift. We proof before printing and will flag anything that will not reproduce well.
How few can I order?
