The smartest card a business sends all year
Here is the argument, and plenty of businesses around North Dallas have worked it out. A Christmas card competes with forty others on the same desk in the same fortnight. A Thanksgiving card arrives alone.
It also says something different. A Christmas card is a seasonal obligation; a thank you at Thanksgiving is specific, it reads as genuine, and it lands while people still have time to notice it. If you send one corporate card a year, there is a real case for it being this one.
The timing is tight and fixed
Thanksgiving moves, but the window does not. Cards want to land in the week or ten days before, which means ordering in late October or the first half of November. Miss it and there is nowhere to go — unlike Christmas, there is no grace period afterwards.
Say something actual
The cards that work name something specific — a project, a year, a particular piece of work. "Thank you for your business" reads as a mailshot. Two sentences that could only have been written to that client reads as a relationship, and it is why matte paper matters here: you want to be able to add a handwritten line.

Is a Thanksgiving card odd for a business?
Less odd every year, and that is rather the point — it stands out precisely because fewer people send one.
When should we order?
Late October or early November. The posting window is narrow and there is no catching up afterwards.
Should we hand-sign them?
Yes, and choose matte paper so a pen works. A printed signature undoes most of the effect.
Can we do this and a Christmas card?
You can, though many businesses find one well-timed card beats two rushed ones. If you do both, Christmas cards want ordering at the same time.
