What soft touch actually is
It is a laminate, not a paper. We print the card on matte stock first, then bond a soft touch film over the top. That film is what gives the velvety, almost suede feel people notice straight away.
The second effect is the one nobody mentions until they hold one: the laminate adds rigidity. A soft touch card is stiffer than the same stock without it, so it does not curl or go floppy in a wallet. Between the feel and the firmness, people tend to turn these over in their hand without thinking about it. That is the whole point of the product.
Allow the extra days, and here is why
Laminating is a separate pass after the ink is down. That is real machine time, so soft touch runs on 3+ business days and there is no same-day option on this product. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you plan around a rush that does not exist. If you need cards tomorrow, our matte or gloss cards will get you there.

Proof before we laminate
You see a proof before anything runs. Worth the extra look on this product, because the laminate shifts color slightly and we would rather set expectations than surprise you.
Two base weights
100 lb Premium Matte or 120 lb Thick Matte under the laminate. The thicker base plus the film gives you the stiffest card we make in this range.

Questions we get asked
Can I write on soft touch?
Not reliably. The laminate resists ink much the way gloss does. If you need to write on the card, choose matte.
Does the laminate change the color?
Slightly. It mutes very bright colors a little and deepens dark ones. Blacks in particular look richer. We will show you a proof before it runs.
Is it really more rigid, or does it just feel nicer?
Both. The film is bonded to the stock, so it genuinely stiffens the card. Put one next to the same stock unlaminated and the difference is obvious.
Can I get these faster?
Not on this product. The lamination pass is what sets the timeline. If the deadline is fixed, our matte and gloss cards run same day before 10 AM.
Does it scratch?
It marks less readily than high gloss, which shows fingerprints. Soft touch hides handling well, which is part of why it wears nicely.
