Wind goes through, not against
Mesh is banner material with thousands of small perforations through it. Wind passes straight through rather than loading the banner like a sail, which takes an enormous amount of strain off your grommets, your fixings and whatever the banner is attached to.
That last part matters more than people expect. A large solid banner on a fence in a North Texas gust does not usually fail at the print — it fails at the corners, or it takes a section of fence panel with it.
When mesh is the right answer
Construction hoarding and site fencing. Long fence runs at schools and sports fields. Building wraps and scaffold banners. Stadium and arena perimeter work. Anywhere a solid banner would act like a sail, and anywhere a property manager or general contractor is going to ask you about wind load.
The trade-off, honestly
The perforations mean colors read slightly softer than on solid vinyl, and up close you can see through it. At the distance these banners are actually read, neither matters. If the banner is somewhere sheltered and you want maximum punch, use a solid vinyl banner instead.
Finishing, explained
The part most people guess at, and the part that decides how long your banner lasts.

Grommet placement. Top and bottom is the default for a fence or a wall. All sides for anything in real wind. Top only for a banner hanging free. Left and right for one stretched between two posts. Tell us how it is going up and we will put them where they need to be.

Questions we get asked
Mesh or solid vinyl?
If it is large, outdoors and exposed, mesh. If it is sheltered or indoors and you want the strongest color, vinyl.
Can you see through it?
Up close, slightly. From the distance a fence banner is read, no.
How should I fix it to a fence?
Welded hem with grommets all sides, and zip ties rather than rope. Ties at every grommet, not just the corners — that is what keeps the edges from flapping and working themselves loose.
Do you do very large sizes?
Tell us the dimensions. We will confirm what we can produce in one piece and where it is better done in panels.
