Envelopes (Envelopes)
Custom Envelope Printing in North Dallas
Twenty-three sizes, from a #10 business envelope to a 10" x 13" catalog. Printed on the front, or front and flap, and collected from our shop near the Galleria.
Order early and pay half
The single most useful thing on this page. Same envelope, same quantity — only the lead time changes.
| Production time | 500 x #10, front printed in color |
|---|---|
| 3+ business days | $160.00 |
| 1 – 2 business days | $240.00 |
| Same day | $320.00 |
Same day exists because sometimes it has to, and we would rather have it available than turn you away. But it is double, and envelopes are rarely a surprise — you generally know a month out that the mailing is coming. Ordering with a few days in hand is the easiest money you will save on print all year.
How much to print: front, or front and flap
| 500 x #10 | Black and white | Color |
|---|---|---|
| Front only | $110.00 | $160.00 |
| Front and flap | $160.00 | $260.00 |
Printing the front gets you a return address and a logo in the corner — which is all most business mail needs, and all the recipient looks at before opening it.
The flap is a different decision. It is seen at the moment the envelope is turned over and opened, so it is worth paying for when the envelope is part of an experience rather than a delivery mechanism: invitations, donor mail, a welcome pack, anything where somebody is meant to feel something. On a stack of invoices it is money spent on a surface nobody registers.
Twenty-three sizes, and what each one is for
Most of the ordering mistakes we see are size mistakes, and nearly all of them are avoidable.
| Business — #10 (4.125" x 9.5") | The standard American business envelope and the one most of this goes out as. Four versions: plain, with a window, security tinted, and security tinted with a window. A window saves you addressing anything; the tint stops a check or a statement being read through the paper. |
|---|---|
| Business — #9 (3.875" x 8.875") | Slightly smaller than a #10, with or without a window. Its classic job is as the reply envelope that fits inside a #10 — which is exactly why remittance versions exist. |
| Remittance — #9 and #6 | Reply envelopes with a deep flap, meant to be sent out inside a larger envelope for someone to mail back. The #6 (3.625" x 6.5") has a long flap for the same reason. |
| Social — A1 to A10 | A1 3.625" x 5.125", A2 4.375" x 5.75", A4 4.25" x 6.25", A6 4.75" x 6.5", A7 5.25" x 7.25", A9 5.75" x 8.75", A10 6" x 9.5". These are the invitation and announcement sizes — squarer, softer proportions than a business envelope. A7 is the one that takes a 5" x 7" card. |
| Booklet — 6"x9", 6.5"x9.5", 9"x12", 10"x13" | Opens along the long side. Easy to slide a stack of flat sheets into, which makes it the right choice for mailing brochures, reports and marketing packs. |
| Catalog — 6"x9", 6.5"x9.5", 9"x12", 10"x13" | Same dimensions, but opens at the short end. Better for bulkier contents and for anything you want to slide in and out repeatedly. This is the distinction people miss when they order. |
Windows and security tint
A window means you never address the envelope. The address printed on the document shows through, which removes a whole step from a mailing and removes the risk of a letter going into the wrong envelope. If you run invoices or statements from software, this is almost always the right call — just make sure the address block in your template lines up with the window before you order a thousand.
Security tint is a printed pattern on the inside of the envelope that stops the contents being read through the paper when held to the light. Checks, payroll, statements, anything with account numbers on it. It costs nothing extra here, and on financial mail it is not really optional.
You can have both — a #10 security tint window envelope is the standard for sending checks.

Questions we get asked
More than the mailing needs. Envelopes get spoiled, misaddressed and used for other things, and the second order costs nearly as much as the first because the setup is most of the price. If your list is 400, order 500 and keep the rest for next time.
Bring them in and we will look. It depends on the stock, the flap and the condition — some feed cleanly, some do not. If you want plain stock to run yourself, we sell blank envelopes at $60 per 500.
It can, if artwork strays into the barcode zone along the bottom or crowds the address area. We check this before printing. If you are doing a large bulk mailing, tell us and we will keep the layout inside the clear zones.
Yes, and you should order them together. Same artwork, one proofing round, and the ink lays down on the same day so the color matches. Ordering letterheads six months later and hoping is how sets end up slightly off.
