Stapled on the fold
Saddle stitching folds the sheets together and staples through the spine. It is the most economical binding we do, and for anything up to about 64 pages it is usually the right answer. Your event program, church bulletin, school yearbook supplement and product catalog are all most likely saddle stitched.

The single most useful thing to know before you lay one out.
The honest limitation
Saddle stitch does not lie flat. Open one on a desk and it wants to close again. And past roughly 64 pages the fold starts to bulge and the inner pages creep outward, so the trimmed edge stops looking clean.
If you need the book to stay open while someone works through it, or you are over that page count, look at spiral bound or Wire-O instead. Same shop, different binding, and we will tell you honestly which one your job wants.

Questions we get asked
Which paper combination should I pick?
The 100 lb gloss cover with matte text insides is the one that reads as a proper publication. A sturdier cover that survives handling, and pages that are comfortable to read. The all-text options are lighter and more economical for high-volume handouts.
My content is 22 pages. What happens?
You print 24 and one spread runs blank. Most people either add a note page at the back or let the inside back cover stay empty. Neither is a problem, it is just better to choose than to discover.
Can I do a square booklet?
Yes, three of them. 4.75" x 4.75", 6" x 6" and 8" x 8". Squares stand out on a table where portrait booklets blend in.
Why does the cover count as 4 pages?
Front, inside front, inside back and back. They are all printable surfaces, so the page count includes them even if you leave two of them blank.
