Custom Notepad Printing

Branded pads glued at the head with a chipboard back. Sixteen sizes, 25 to 100 sheets per pad, printed in North Dallas.

One pad is the expensive way to buy a pad

A single 4.25" x 5.5" pad with 50 sheets printed in color is $30.03. Twenty-five of the same pad is $243.95 — which is $9.76 each.

That is not a discount so much as arithmetic: most of the cost of a notepad is setting it up, printing the sheets and padding them. Doing it once for twenty-five pads costs barely more than doing it once for one.

So the honest advice is: the minimum is one, and you can absolutely order one if you want to see it. But if notepads are going on desks, in welcome packs or out to clients, work out the real number and order it in one go.

How many sheets per pad?

25, 50, 75 or 100, all with a chipboard backing board.

25 sheetsGiveaway thickness. Conference bags, welcome packs, open days, leave-behinds. Cheap enough to hand out freely, and a thin pad gets used up and thrown away — which is fine if the point was the moment of handing it over.
50 sheetsThe everyday pad, and the one most people should buy. Substantial enough to sit on a desk and last a few months, not so thick it feels like a purchase.
75 – 100 sheetsA pad that lives on one desk for a long time. Worth it for internal use, for forms that get filled repeatedly, or for a client-facing pad you want to stay in front of somebody for the best part of a year.

Here is the way to think about it: a notepad is advertising that sits on a desk. The sheet count is how long the advertising lasts. A 25-sheet pad in a conference bag is a handshake; a 100-sheet pad on an accountant's desk is nine months of your logo in their eyeline.

Which paper

20 lb economyLighter and cheaper. Right for high-volume giveaway pads where the pad is a promotional item. It is thin enough that a ballpoint pressed hard will show on the sheet beneath, which for scratch notes does not matter.
28 lb matte textNoticeably more substantial. Takes pen without show-through, feels better to write on, and does not curl. This is what you want for anything client-facing or for a pad that is also a form.

Every pad comes with a chipboard back, which is what lets you write on it in your hand rather than needing a desk.

Designing a pad people actually use

Keep the middle empty. A notepad is a surface for writing. Branding belongs at the head, in a slim footer, or as a very light watermark. A full-color background that somebody has to write over means the pad sits unused next to a plain one.

Put the useful thing on it. The pads that survive on desks are the ones with a purpose printed in: a call log with name and number fields, a checklist, a shift handover, an order form, a daily top-three. It costs nothing more than a blank pad and it changes it from a giveaway into a tool.

Double sided is usually a waste. Almost nobody turns a notepad sheet over. Print the back only if there is a genuine reason — instructions, terms, a reference table.

Questions we get asked

Which size should I pick?

4.25" x 5.5" for desk and giveaway pads — it is the most ordered size for a reason. 5.5" x 8.5" if people will write more than a line or two. Letter size if it is really a form rather than a notepad.

Can I have lines or grid on them?

Yes. Lines, grid, dot grid, columns, custom fields — it is all just artwork. Tell us what you want and we will set it out, or send your own layout.

Can I order several different designs?

Yes, though each design is a separate setup, so ten pads of five designs costs considerably more than fifty of one. If the designs differ only by a name or a department, say so — there are cheaper ways to do that.

How are they held together?

Glued along the head, so sheets tear off cleanly one at a time, with a chipboard board at the back for rigidity.
